Why choose organic cotton over synthetic fabric?
Organic cotton is a natural plant-based fibre that is soft, breathable and comfortable against delicate skin. In contrast, many synthetic fabrics are made from petrochemicals and can release tiny plastic fibres, known as microplastics, as they are used and washed. Senger Naturwelt uses GOTS-certified organic cotton for its plush animals, offering a natural alternative made to high environmental and social standards.

What is GOTS?
GOTS stands for the Global Organic Textile Standard. It is an internationally recognised standard for organic textiles that covers the journey from raw material through to processing and manufacture. GOTS certification considers both environmental and social criteria, including the use of chemicals, production processes and working conditions. Senger Naturwelt has been GOTS certified since 2023.

Why does my teddy have a smell?
Senger cuddly animals are filled with pure sheep’s wool from controlled organic farming. The wool naturally contains lanolin, a protective wool fat that gives it its characteristic scent. This gentle, natural smell will gradually fade over time, although it may become a little stronger after washing before settling again. Allowing the teddy to air outdoors can help. Senger also suggests placing a completely dry plush toy in the freezer for a few hours, then allowing it to dry thoroughly afterwards.
