Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks began quietly in 2008, before I began my own journey into motherhood, while I was working as a nanny for a sweet little boy in London. I was searching for gentle, nourishing products and beautiful, open-ended toys that truly aligned with my values - pieces that supported imagination, emotional wellbeing, and childhood as it should be. But here in the UK, they were hard to find. Ordering from overseas meant costly shipping and import fees that made everything feel out of reach and unsustainable.

I’ve always carried a deep fear of failure, so starting a business felt like a very big step. But with the unwavering encouragement and support of my then-boyfriend (now husband), we decided to take a brave little leap. He built our very first website, and together we opened a tiny online shop - simply bringing in the products we wished had been available to us.

We placed a few hopeful adverts in parenting magazines, and slowly, families began to find us. They resonated with what we believed in: childhood rooted in simplicity, beauty, and meaningful play.

Seventeen years later, Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks has grown right alongside our family. In that time, we’ve celebrated a wedding, welcomed three beautiful children, moved from the city to the countryside in search of a slower and more intentional rhythm, and begun our wholehearted homeschooling journey.

I’m Melody - the mama behind Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks, with a background in Early Childhood Education and a deep love for open-ended play. Every brand we stock is one we use in our own home. Each product is tried, tested, and truly loved by our family before it becomes part of our carefully curated collection.

Through it all, Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks has been more than a business. It has been a living part of our family’s unfolding story, and I’m so grateful to share it with you.
