The Grimm's 36 Large Wooden Beads – 30mm are a tactile, colourful tool for developing fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and creative expression. Each bead is hand-stained in one of 12 rainbow colours using non-toxic water-based dyes, creating an inviting sensory experience for children.

The larger 30mm size is perfect for younger children practising grasping, threading, and sequencing. Children can experiment with colour sorting, pattern-making, or combining beads with other Grimm’s wooden toys for imaginative counting and design activities. The size makes handling easier while still supporting skill development and concentration.

Lovingly handcrafted in Germany from sustainable maple wood, these beads are designed with Waldorf and Montessori principles in mind. They encourage independent, open-ended play where children can explore, invent, and learn at their own pace. There are no instructions - children are free to create their own games, designs, and learning experiences.

Please note: as Grimm's uses non-lacquered wood, some paint transfer can occur during play. This is considered normal. Non-lacquered wood has a lovely texture - the rough texture of the stained wood is not only an important tactile sensory experience for children, but those rough surfaces makes it possible to build in many different ways, because the parts do not slide down so easily as the wood surface is still natural and not covered with a layer of bright enamel; however if you are concerned about paint transfer we suggest you purchase another item that is lacquered to be on the safe side.
