Natursutten Care Instructions
Natursutten Natural Rubber Pacifier and Teat Care Instructions
Before First Use
- We recommend keeping your Natursutten pacifier or teats in its packaging until ready for use.
- When you first open the package you'll notice it has an oily coating.
- This is for preserving the rubber and will disappear with sterilising.
- You may also notice a "rubbery" smell that's perfectly natural.
Sterilising
- Always sterilize your Natursutten before using it the first time.
- Boil for 5 minutes (This is only done before the first use and should not be repeated).
- Make sure the pacifier doesn’t touch the bottom of the pot. After sterilizing, remove the pacifier from the water immediately to let it cool. Cooling the pacifier in boiling water can lead to scale buildup, making it appear dull.
- The natural rubber will probably turn whitish from the boiling water.
- Don't worry, it will get back to its original colour after a few days.
- Never put it in the dishwasher, and we don't recommend using sterilisers.
Daily Cleaning
- Always wash it with warm water and mild dish soap between uses.
- If it needs an extra thorough clean place it in a strainer and sterilise it by pouring boiling water over it.
Replacement Guidelines
- We recommend that you replace your Natursutten every 6-8 weeks.
- It really depends on how often your baby uses the pacifier, not how long you have owned it.
- It is time to replace it if the nipple sticks together when pressed, or if the pacifier starts to feel sticky overall.
- With heavy use the pacifier tip tends to expand. So we recommend using 2 pacifiers and alternating them.

Natursutten Glass Bottle Care Instructions
Sterilising
- Before first use, the glass bottle and all its components (cap, ring, seal, and double-valve) can be sterilized using a sterilizer or by boiling. (please see the guidelines above for how to propery care for your rubber teat).
- Remove the bottle from the sterilizer or boiling water immediately to cool. Avoid letting it sit in boiling water for long periods.
Daily Cleaning
- Hand-wash with warm water and mild dish soap and a bottle brush after each use.
- The glass bottle and plastic components can be sterilized daily in a sterilizer, boiled, or placed in a sterilizing solution.

Natural Colour Changes
Choosing a natural product means each pacifier will vary slightly in colour. This is purely aesthetic and does not impact the functionality of the product. Due to the natural properties of the material, natural rubber pacifiers can sometimes get a milk white film or cloudiness. While this is most often attributed to heat, there are a number of environmental changes that can cause the material to “cloud”. The good news is that clouding is completely harmless.
Natursutten pacifiers naturally darken with use due to the absence of chemicals and antioxidants. This colour change is expected and indicates the product's natural composition.
