How to Warm or Cool Your Senger Naturwelt Cuddly Animal
Senger cuddly animals contain a removable natural filling cushion which can be gently warmed or cooled, adding another layer of comfort to an already lovely companion.
Please take a little time to read these instructions before warming your cushion for the first time. Only the inner filling cushion should ever be warmed — never place the whole animal in an oven or microwave.
Heating times are a guide and can vary between different ovens and microwave models. Always take care when warming the cushion and never exceed the recommended temperature or heating time.
After warming, allow the cushion to rest for around 30 seconds before checking the temperature. Always test the warmth carefully by hand before giving it to a child, as the filling inside may be warmer than the outer fabric.

Cherry Stone & Grape Seed Cushions
Cherry stone and grape seed cushions can be warmed in either the oven or microwave:
-
Oven: Warm the cushion at 75°C for approximately 3–5 minutes.
-
Microwave: Place the cushion on a microwave-safe plate and warm for 30–60 seconds at a maximum of 600W.
To warm the cushion, open the zip underneath the animal and carefully remove the inner cushion first. The animal itself must never be placed in the oven or microwave.
Always check the temperature carefully before use. The cushion should never become excessively hot, as this can cause burns or pose a risk of overheating, particularly for babies and young children. An overheated cushion can also become a fire hazard and may burn or ignite.
Children and babies should never be left unsupervised with a warmed cushion.
Spelt Husk Cushions
Spelt husk cushions need to be warmed differently and must never be placed in a microwave.
-
Oven: Remove the inner cushion and warm at a maximum of 75°C for approximately 2–3 minutes.
-
Heater: The cushion can also be gently warmed on a suitable, safe heater. Please make sure your particular heater is appropriate for this before doing so.
Never microwave a spelt husk cushion, as this can cause the filling to burn and may create a risk of fire.
As with all warmed cushions, take care to ensure it does not become too hot. There is a risk of burns or overheating, particularly for babies and young children, and a cushion that becomes excessively hot may burn or ignite. Children and babies should always be supervised by an adult when using a warmed cushion.

Why Spelt Husk Doesn't Stay Warm as Long
You may notice that a spelt husk cushion doesn't retain warmth for quite as long as a cherry stone or grape seed cushion. This is simply down to the nature of the filling.
Spelt husks are the outer shells of spelt grains, and it is the air held between the individual husks that warms. Cherry stones and grape seeds themselves absorb and retain heat, allowing them to stay warm for longer.
The lovely benefit of a spelt husk cushion is that the air between the husks warms quickly. Even gentle cuddling can help to create and maintain a little natural warmth, making it a particularly cosy companion.
Cooling Your Senger Cuddly Animal
The filling cushions can also be cooled when a little refreshing comfort is preferred.
Simply remove the inner cushion from the animal and place the cushion only in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Once cooled, check the temperature carefully before use.
And while your cushion is cooling, your Senger friend can stay right there beside you, ready for a cuddle. ♡
A Little Extra Care
Senger's natural fillings are designed to bring comforting warmth in a simple, natural way, but they do need to be treated with care. Please always supervise babies and young children when using a warmed cushion, check the temperature carefully by hand and follow the recommended heating times and temperatures.
When in doubt, less warmth is always better than too much.
Important Safety Information
Not suitable for premature babies or children under 2 months old due to the risk of overheating. Always exercise caution when using the heat cushion and check that it is only hand-warm before use. Please follow the manufacturer’s heating and cooling instructions carefully.
