Grimm's Large Octagon

Grimm’s Large Octagon is an expansive geometric building puzzle designed to unlock the full creative potential of the triangle. With 72 wooden pieces in 9 vibrant colours - eight triangles per colour forming nine individual octagons - this set offers even greater scope for exploration, symmetry, and design.

From small triangles to large octagons, children can discover how one simple shape becomes the foundation for stars, hexagons, complex mosaics, and endless geometric patterns. The larger piece count allows for more intricate constructions, detailed mandalas, architectural designs, animals, towers, and imaginative play scenes for dolls and vehicles.

Each chunky wooden triangle is 4 cm thick, making the set ideal for stacking and structural building. Younger children will enjoy sensory exploration and colour sorting, while older children can experiment with advanced symmetry, tessellation, and spatial problem-solving.

Crafted from sustainably sourced alder, lime, maple, and cherry wood, the pieces are finished with non-toxic water-based colour stains and natural plant oils. The non-lacquered surface preserves the natural texture of the wood, enhancing tactile feedback and allowing more stable building.

Please note: as Grimm's uses non-lacquered wood, some paint transfer can occur during play. This is considered normal. Non-lacquered wood has a lovely texture - the rough texture of the stained wood is not only an important tactile sensory experience for children, but those rough surfaces makes it possible to build in many different ways, because the parts do not slide down so easily as the wood surface is still natural and not covered with a layer of bright enamel; however if you are concerned about paint transfer we suggest you purchase another item that is lacquered to be on the safe side.
