How Do I Wash and Care for My Senger Cuddly Animal?

SENGER cuddly animals are made from natural fibres and benefit from gentle care. We recommend hand washing with cool water and a mild detergent or wool detergent. Avoid rubbing, brushing, spinning or wringing the animal, as these can affect the natural fibres and wool filling. After washing, carefully squeeze out excess water and allow the animal to dry lying flat on a towel, moving it gently from time to time as it dries. A natural wool scent may be more noticeable while the animal is damp but will soften again once completely dry.

Why Does My Senger Cuddly Animal Have a Natural Woolly Smell?

If your Senger animal has a gentle woolly or lanolin scent when it first arrives, this is a natural characteristic of the sheep’s wool used inside many of their cuddly animals. Lanolin is the natural wool fat that helps protect the fibres and keep the wool soft and supple. The scent usually becomes less noticeable with time and will soften considerably as the animal settles into its new home. It may become a little stronger when the wool is damp, such as after washing, but should diminish again as it dries.

Is It Normal to Find a Little Loose Fluff on My Senger Animal?

Yes. You may notice a few loose fibres or small pieces of cotton fluff, particularly on Senger's white plush animals. This is a natural characteristic of untreated cotton. White cotton fibres are not dyed or bleached, and they do not hold together quite as firmly as dyed fibres, so a little loose fluff can sometimes be present. Senger takes care to clean and brush the animals during production, but completely removing every loose natural fibre isn't possible. Any remaining fluff is harmless and can simply be removed with an upholstery vacuum attachment or gently brushed away.
