Why does my Senger teddy shed at first?
A small amount of loose fibre is normal, particularly with Senger’s undyed white organic cotton plush. Because the cotton is a natural fibre and has not been bleached or chemically treated, some fibres can remain loose after weaving. The shedding naturally reduces with use. Any excess fibres can be gently removed with a vacuum upholstery attachment or by shaking the teddy outdoors.

Why does my teddy have a smell?
Senger cuddly animals are filled with pure sheep’s wool from controlled organic farming. The wool naturally contains lanolin, a protective wool fat that gives it its characteristic scent. This gentle, natural smell will gradually fade over time, although it may become a little stronger after washing before settling again. Allowing the teddy to air outdoors can help. Senger also suggests placing a completely dry plush toy in the freezer for a few hours, then allowing it to dry thoroughly afterwards.

Will the colours run when I wash my Senger teddy?
Senger uses carefully selected, lead-free dyes and does not use azo dyes or fabric softeners. However, leaving a plush animal soaking wet for too long can sometimes cause the colour from the woven backing yarn to bleed onto the fabric, particularly on white animals. To help prevent this, wash according to the care instructions, avoid prolonged soaking and gently press out excess water rather than leaving the teddy submerged. Should slight brown discolouration appear, a second wash will usually remove it.
