Soft pastel tones meet purposeful play with the Grimm’s Sorting Helper for Building Rings in calming pastel colours. Designed as a colour sorting and matching activity, this wooden learning toy combines perfectly with the Grimm's 24 Pastel Building Rings, inviting children to organise, count and pattern across 12 coordinating dowels.
The sturdy base is crafted from solid alder wood and finished with non-toxic plant-based oil, preserving the natural warmth of the wood. Each smooth beechwood dowel is coloured using non-toxic, water-based stains in gentle pastel shades. Children sort rings by colour, explore symmetry and practise counting as they build patterns and sequences.
More than a simple matching game, this sorting helper supports fine motor development, concentration and early numeracy skills. Rooted in Waldorf-inspired play, it encourages independence and thoughtful engagement through repetition and discovery.
Its harmonious colours and natural materials create a calming, inviting activity that nurtures focus while building foundational learning skills. FAQ's and more can be found in our Grimm’s Toy Guide.

About Grimm's
Grimm's toys are inspired by the principles of Waldorf Steiner and are designed with the intention of helping children discover and develop their own creativity through simplicity of shapes, leaving plenty of room for independent play and imagination. Inspired by the educational philosophies of Rudolf Steiner, Grimm's puzzles, building sets, and toys are about the rainbow, happy colors, creativity, and the imagination. There are no instructions, and you can do no wrong with a Grimm's toy. Just play, learn, and enjoy.
Please note: as Grimm's uses non-lacquered wood, some paint transfer can occur during play. This is considered normal. Non-lacquered wood has a lovely texture - the rough texture of the stained wood is not only an important tactile sensory experience for children, but those rough surfaces makes it possible to build in many different ways, because the parts do not slide down so easily as the wood surface is still natural and not covered with a layer of bright enamel; however if you are concerned about paint transfer we suggest you purchase another item that is lacquered to be on the safe side.
Warning: Choking hazard – small parts. Not suitable for children under 3 years.
