The Grimm’s Sorting Rainbow Board offers young children a vibrant, hands-on way to develop fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and color recognition. Designed as a complement to Grimm’s Rainbow Friends, this wooden board provides a playful plug-in game where the 12 little wooden balls and Rainbow Friends can be sorted, matched, and stored according to color. The interactive activity encourages focus, patience, and early problem-solving skills while making learning visually engaging and tactilely satisfying.
Crafted from non-lacquered, high-quality wood, the board retains the natural texture of the material. The slightly rough surface not only provides a rich sensory experience for little hands but also ensures the pieces stay in place during play, making stacking and building more stable. Some paint transfer may occur during use, which is normal for non-lacquered wood and reflects the authenticity of the natural finish. Children benefit from the combination of texture, weight, and solid craftsmanship, creating a multi-sensory and open-ended play experience.
This Sorting Rainbow Board inspires creativity, independent exploration, and hands-on learning. Its colorful design, durable wood, and engaging plug-in play make it an ideal first sorting and stacking game, supporting early cognitive, tactile, and motor development while keeping children entertained and curious. Grimm's toys are inspired by the principles of Waldorf Steiner and are designed with the intention of helping children discover and develop their own creativity through simplicity of shapes, leaving plenty of room for independent play and imagination. Inspired by the educational philosophies of Rudolf Steiner, Grimm's puzzles, building sets, and toys are about the rainbow, happy colors, creativity, and the imagination. There are no instructions, and you can do no wrong with a Grimm's toy. Just play, learn, and enjoy.
Please note: as Grimm's uses non-lacquered wood, some paint transfer can occur during play. This is considered normal. Non-lacquered wood has a lovely texture - the rough texture of the stained wood is not only an important tactile sensory experience for children, but those rough surfaces makes it possible to build in many different ways, because the parts do not slide down so easily as the wood surface is still natural and not covered with a layer of bright enamel; however if you are concerned about paint transfer we suggest you purchase another item that is lacquered to be on the safe side.
