Description

Please note: These crayons are labelled as Honeysticks Thins, as they are from the previous Honeysticks packaging. They are exactly the same product now sold as Honeysticks Jumbos – Honeysticks has simply renamed its crayon ranges. The crayons themselves are unchanged.

Honeysticks Thins are thoughtfully made using simple, natural materials, offering children a gentle way to explore colour, creativity, and expression. Crafted with beeswax and food-grade ingredients, they provide a safer, more natural alternative to conventional crayons, supporting a more mindful approach to creative play.

Designed with growing children in mind, Thins have a slightly slimmer shape that fits comfortably in the hand, supporting developing control and coordination. They are well suited to children who are refining their drawing skills, allowing for more detailed mark-making and easier movement into smaller spaces on the page. As children draw, they are naturally encouraged to build confidence in their hand control and creative decision-making through simple, open-ended play.

With a focus on natural materials and gentle colour, these crayons offer a calm and enjoyable creative experience. The set includes 8 vibrant shades, each made using non-toxic colourants, and is thoughtfully designed with recyclable packaging to support a more sustainable way of living and playing.

Dimensions: 10cm long and 1.19cm thick

WHAT ARE HONEYSTICKS MADE FROM?

Honeysticks beeswax crayons are handmade using natural and food grade ingredients, 100% pure New Zealand beeswax and food-grade pigments for colour. They are safe for infants and children ages 1+. No Honeysticks crayons contain paraffin wax.

ARE HONEYSTOCKS DESIGNED FOR SPECIFIC AGE GROUPS OR DEVELOPMENT?

Yes! Honeysticks crayons are specifically designed by our in-house expert to support each age and stage of pencil and pen grasp development, from pre-school to early school years. See our guide below to see which Honeysticks crayon is best for your little creator.

Stage 1 – Scribble – Honeysticks Originals and Triangles
Short and Stubby, Originals and Triangles are ideal as first crayons. Start with Originals, then move onto Triangles – specifically designed to help little hands to move away from a fisted grip.

Stage 2 – Draw – Honeysticks Super Jumbos
With their extra-long and thick design, Super Jumbos are perfect for little artists who are learning to develop their grasp and gradually gain better control on paper.

Stage 3 – Write – Honeysticks Jumbos
Jumbos are larger than most standard crayons – making them perfect for little artists who have a more controlled grip, making them ideal for drawing and writing.

ARE HONEYSTICKS CRAYONS WASHABLE?

Apart from our Honeysticks Bath Crayons, our crayons are designed for paper, card and other art materials. If you do mark a garment or surface, we recommend using a cloth slightly dampened with warm water to remove the mess.

ARE THERE ANY CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR HONEYSTICKS PRODUCTS?

Your Honeysticks must be kept out of direct sunlight, stored in a safe dry place away from children when not in use.

WHAT PIGMENTS ARE USED TO CREATE YOUR COLOURS?

We blend and create all our colours from food grade pigments. Although we do not make food products, by using food grade ingredients our product is safer and better for children if they happen to put them into their mouths. We use only food grade approved pigments in all of our products.

DOES HONEYSTICKS CONTAIN ANY ALLERGENS?

Our beeswax crayons are non-toxic and free of the top 8 allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish ,Crustacean Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat and Soybeans) Our bath crayons contain soy which is used to soften the crayon. These are made on the same machines as our beeswax crayons so there could be a chance of cross contamination.

DO YOU USE PARRAFIN WAX IN YOUR CRAYONS?

NO! Paraffin wax is derived from petroleum, coal or shale oil. We don't want any of that near kids!

WHAT IS THE WHITE POWDER ON MY CRAYONS?

You may see a light powdery appearance on your Honeysticks crayons. This is called Blooming. This blooming naturally forms on the surface of most beeswax after a period of time. The bloom is harmless it's actually a sign of pure beeswax and can be removed by simply wiping the crayon with a soft cloth.

WHY DO MY HONEYSTICKS CRAYONS SMELL LIKE HONEY?

Honeysticks uses 100% pure, sustainably sourced New Zealand beeswax to make our crayons. This has a natural and delicious beeswax scent! (While they do smell yummy, Honeysticks crayons aren't designed for eating - save that for the honey jar!). Our crayons don't contain any actual honey.
