About Grapat

Grapat is a family-run toy maker from Catalonia, Spain, creating simple, open-ended wooden play materials that celebrate childhood, imagination, and nature. Founded in 2015, the brand grew from the founders’ experience as parents, observing that children thrive with time, freedom, and thoughtfully chosen materials.

Rooted in a slower, intentional way of life, Grapat designs toys that invite children to explore, invent, and express themselves without instructions or expectations. Wood, warm and alive, is at the heart of every piece, crafted with traditional processes and sustainably sourced European timber, then hand-stained with non-toxic, water-based dyes.

Loved in over 60 countries, Grapat remains personal and hands-on, with local production, fair working conditions, plastic-free packaging, and a philosophy that honours children’s natural creativity and the joy of open-ended play.

Certifications

• Water-based, non-toxic dyes are used. 

• Wood is sourced from sustainably managed forests and is PEFC certified. 
  

• Most products are made in one piece; when glue is required, it is 100% formaldehyde-free.

• All products are manufactured and tested in compliance with European (EN71 1–2-3),and ISO 8124 toy safety standards.

• All collaborators and suppliers are based in Europe, ensuring proximity, transparency, and fair working conditions.

• All packaging is 100% plastic-free.
