Baltic Amber Child Necklaces

All of our beautiful amber necklaces are made from certified genuine natural Baltic amber. For the best results it is recommended that the amber be worn as much as possible in direct contact with the skin. It is very important that the necklace is short enough that the child is not able to get it to their mouth, as an Amber necklace in not designed to be chewed on. To preserve the properties of the necklace and prolong its life, we recommend you remove the necklace while swimming, gently clean with lukewarm water and a soft cloth and avoid the use of any detergents on the necklace.

Product Safety and Testing

Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks have had their amber jewellery independently tested in the UK by an accredited laboratory. Our amber jewellery has been tested for chemicals and heavy metals, and passes EN71-3:2013 (Safety test for chemicals and heavy metals).

All our children’s necklaces are fitted with the new EU safety clip clasps, which come open instantly if the necklace is caught on anything. The safety clip clasps have been independently tested by a 3rd party laboratory through our manufacturer and pass LST EN71-1:2011 5.14 (tension test). EN71-1 is one of the main toy safety standards as it contains requirements for the design, strength and performance of toys. While amber necklaces are not considered to be toys, they do not currently have a category for safety testing, and so are treated as toys since they are intended for use with children. All amber necklaces intended for use with children should meet this safety standard.

Our necklaces and anklets are not toys and are not sold with the intention of beign used as toys. EU Toy safety regulations EN-71-1 states necklaces and anklets are not suitable to use as toys for children under 36 months.
